Book 1.1-3.  Tolstoy relays aspects of Aristotle’s political science, in that it shows Russia is undergoing a regime change from something like an aristocracy to a democracy.  Both Tolstoy and Dostoevsky see Russia becoming more modern as well, so they are analyzing whether modernity is consistent with human thriving.  The analysis of AK, the characters and families in the book, starts at 15:00.  I begin with names, the point of view in the book, the first lines of the book about good and bad families and then analyze the episode between Dolly and Oblonsky with which the book starts (51:53).
